Penny Cecil Selected as Interim Director of Students Services for LaRue County Schools

LaRue County Schools is excited to announce the appointment of Penny Cecil to the role of Interim Director of Student Services at LaRue County Schools (LCS) and Chris Price as the Assistant Director of Student Services. Both as life-long LaRue Countians and Hawks, have served in various positions within the district including classroom teaching and administration.

On their appointments to this position, LaRue County Superintendent Adryanne Warren commented, "Penny & Chris are both incredible leaders in their own right. Not only have they served LaRue County in various capacities across the district, but they share a deep dedication for student success and safety. Penny brings years of elementary experience where setting a firm foundation of attendance ensures better outcomes later in middle and high school. Likewise, Chris served for years at the high school level and several in the elementary level giving him a wide range of understanding in all safety-related issues. This truly is a dynamic duo who can do great things from day one because of their previous experience in the district.”

Upon accepting their respective positions, Cecil comments, “I love LaRue County through and through. From my earliest days being raised in Buffalo, serving as teacher, leading Hodgenville Elementary School as the principal and then finishing out my professional career at Central Office - I have a passion for seeing all students in LaRue County Schools succeed. I consider it an honor to serve as the Interim Director of Student Services.”

Price reflects, “As a teacher, administrator, and coach one of my primary focuses was always to ensure I took care of my students, staff, and players. Serving as the Assistant Director of Student Services allows me to continue that focus with an emphasis in the area of safety - this is an area I feel like I can serve my Hawk Family with passion and dedication.”

Both positions will serve in a part-time capacity as the aim will be to hire a full-time permanent replacement in the Spring of 2025.
