HODGENVILLE, KY: LaRue County Schools Board of Education Invests In Retaining & Recruiting Staff

Tonight at the regularly scheduled meeting of the LaRue County Board of Education, the members of the board approved the FY2025 Salary Schedule, investing in their efforts to retain and recruit both certified and support staff.

“The role of our staff at LaRue County Schools, both certified and support staff, is crucial to the success of our students. This year the general assembly contributed funds indirectly to help districts across the state give raises to their staff,” explains Board Chair Price Smith. “While these funds were not given in a specific line item to fund staff raises, we did our best to give every amount possible to the people who work tirelessly to ensure our students are prepared for life after graduation.”

The LaRue County Board of Education voted unanimously to increase the classified (support staff) salary schedule by 6.5%, an increase of 4.6% to the certified salary scale, and 4% for all classified hourly employees plus an additional $1.50 for specified areas (specifically areas that have not received a significant increase in the last three years).

“We look forward to working with our elected officials in Frankfort in advocating for even more investment into salary increases for all of our staff in the coming years. LaRue County Schools is committed to making the most of every dollar we are entrusted to steward” says Board Member Farrah Pruitt. “Tonight we took another very necessary step towards making sure those dollars were helping move staff to being compensated for their incredible work.”
