LaRue County Schools See Steady Growth in 2025 State Accountability Results
Hodgenville, Ky. — LaRue County Public Schools showed districtwide improvement in the 2025 state accountability results released today by the Kentucky Department of Education, with every school earning an overall rating of either Green (High) or Yellow (Medium) and none identified for federal consequences such as CSI, TSI, or ATSI.
Superintendent Adryanne Warren said the results reflect consistent academic growth across the district and a stable learning environment for students at every level. “Each of our schools showed meaningful progress this year,” Warren said. “These results confirm the steady work happening in classrooms every day and the commitment our teachers and staff have to student learning and well-being.”
District scores, which combine current performance with year-over-year growth, rose at all three levels: elementary by 3.0 points, middle school by 7.7 points, and high school by 0.5 points. All schools scored in the Medium or High performance categories, and none received an Orange or Red indicator in any academic area. When compared to statewide performance, LaRue County Middle School scored 12.1 points above the state score and LaRue County High School scored 8.1 points above, while elementary performance landed 4.2 points below the state score but still reflected multiple areas of improvement.
Across the district, schools recorded notable gains. At Abraham Lincoln Elementary School, math and science both improved, and students outperformed the state in writing and science, with science earning the school’s highest score. Hodgenville Elementary School saw increases in reading, math, and social studies, outpaced the state in social studies, and posted its strongest performance in reading. LaRue County Middle School improved in every content area, outscored the state in all areas–by margins ranging from 5.4 to 16.2 points—and earned a Green overall rating. The highest scores at LCMS were in writing and reading with significant increases in science, math, social studies, and climate and safety. LaRue County High School posted growth in math, writing, climate and safety, and postsecondary readiness, improving in every indicator and outperforming the state across all measures led by strong margins in writing (+17.0), social studies (+12.7), and postsecondary readiness (+8.9). The highest scores at LCHS were in writing and reading.
Board Chair Farrah Pruitt said the district’s results demonstrate a strong trajectory while also giving clear direction for future work. “We’re encouraged to see growth within all four schools,” Pruitt said. “These results give us a clear picture of our strengths and the areas where we’ll continue to focus. Families can be confident that our schools are stable, improving, and committed to serving every student well.”
Kentucky’s accountability system assigns schools an overall rating using a color scale—Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange, and Red—based on a combination of performance levels and growth over time. None of LaRue County’s schools were identified for any federal classifications, and both the middle and high school earned Green ratings for School Climate and Safety, reflecting continued investment in student support and positive learning environments districtwide.
