To The Class of 2025

Today, as the final day of the 2024–25 school year begins and ends, it marks the end of the first year of school for many of the youngest Hawks at Preschool on College Street, Hodgenville Elementary School, and Abraham Lincoln Elementary School. Yet for our oldest Hawks, today signifies the start of their transition from students to alumni.

Often, a key part of graduation celebrations is the wisdom shared -- spoken aloud or written in cards. A few members of the LaRue County community were asked to offer encouragement to this year’s graduates, and they delivered timeless words for all who will walk across the stage to receive their diplomas on Friday night.

Ryan Bivens, State Representative for District 24 and local farmer, spends his time between the fields of LaRue County and the halls of the Capitol in Frankfort. When asked what wisdom he would share, he offered a strong reminder of what’s possible in life: “Never quit dreaming, never quit learning, set your goals high and reach for the stars. Congratulations on this major accomplishment!”

Farrah Pruitt, Chair of the LaRue County Board of Education and local business owner, serves the county in many ways. A familiar face on the graduation night stage, she has spent years offering encouragement to those stepping into life after LCHS: “Set your eyes on what’s ahead of you while being present where your feet are. There are going to be unimaginable highs and challenging lows. Learn from your past, take accountability for where you’re at, and you’ll be unstoppable.”

Kyle Williamson, Commonwealth’s Attorney for the 10th Circuit and local artist, is no stranger to either the courtroom or the musical stage. His words of encouragement are ones he hopes every senior carries with them—no matter where life takes them: “Wealth, happiness, and success will follow your heart. You should do the same.”

Adryanne Warren, Superintendent of LaRue County Schools, has supported this graduating class in multiple roles throughout their journey to senior year. Now, as she prepares to celebrate her first senior class as Superintendent, she shares wisdom she strives to live by: “You can do many things in life on your own, but remember the value of working with a team. To accomplish your biggest goals, find a group of positive and encouraging people who will go the distance with you. It will make all the difference when you face challenges that tempt you to quit early.”

To our graduating seniors: remember these words, and the countless others shared by those who love and have invested in you. Wherever you go, your LaRue County community will always be here, cheering for your success. Congratulations on your graduation—and welcome to your new role in the Hawk Family: alumni.
