Class of 2026 Set to Cross the Stage at LCHS Graduation

As the school year comes to a close across LaRue County Schools, LaRue County High School is preparing for one of the most meaningful traditions of the year as the Class of 2026 prepares to walk across the stage on Friday, May 22.

Graduation ceremonies for this year’s senior class will begin at 8 p.m. on the football field at LaRue County High School, bringing together families, friends, staff members, and community supporters to celebrate the accomplishments of the graduating class.

LCHS Principal Whitney Choate said graduation represents more than just the end of a school year.

“Graduation is a celebration of years of hard work, growth, and perseverance,” Choate said. “This class has created memories, overcome challenges, and accomplished so much during their time at LaRue County High School. We are excited to celebrate them together as a community.”

Graduates will arrive early in the evening to prepare for the ceremony before gates open for guests at 6:45 p.m. This year’s graduation setup will take place in the end zone area of the football field, with seating available on both the home and visitor sides of the stadium to help accommodate family members and supporters attending the ceremony.

Each graduate is given 10 tickets for the outdoor ceremony. In the event weather requires graduation to move indoors to the gymnasium, each graduate would instead be limited to six tickets because of limited seating capacity. Guests ages three and older are required to have a ticket, while children ages two and under do not need one.

Parking information and maps have already been distributed to families by school staff. Graduate parking will take place at the LaRue County Parks and Recreation area, while guests are encouraged to follow designated parking directions to help ease traffic flow before and after the ceremony.

For those unable to attend in person, a livestream of the graduation ceremony will also be available, allowing extended family and friends to celebrate alongside graduates from anywhere.

Flowers will also be available for purchase at a booth before the ceremony for families and supporters wishing to recognize graduates on their special night.

As another senior class prepares to leave the halls of LaRue County High School, the evening will serve not only as a celebration of achievement, but also as a reminder of the role LCHS and our community play together in helping students prepare for life beyond graduation.
